This year we are offering an unique opportunity to Godfrey-Lee teachers participating in Rebel U - a photo contest!
Bring your camera or cell phone the day of Rebel U and start snapping away! There are two categories you can submit photos to, but feel free to share any pictures you take throughout the day with us as they could be used for our Rebel U 2011 slideshow.
The winner of each category will receive a web cam.
Take pictures throughout the day and then choose 1 that fits a category theme. One entry per person per category is accepted. All pictures must be e-mailed to Sarah Wood by 8:00am on Wednesday, August 31, 2011.
All entries will be judged by the Technology & Media Team and winners will be determined based on relevance to the category themes. All submitted images must be original images belonging to the person submitting them. Winners will be announced by the end of the day on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. All submissions must include:
Even if you choose to not participate in this contest, we encourage you to take pictures of your experience throughout the day. Feel free to send any pictures to Sarah Wood as they could be included in our Rebel U 2011 slideshow!
Also, don't forget our netbook give-away! There is still time to submit a lesson plan - click here for more information!
Today we were notified that we received approval to offer SB-CEU credits for Rebel U 2011! We were approved for 0.5 SB CEUs for the day and for those interested in receiving, there will be a charge of $5.00. We are excited that we are able to offer this opportunity to our teachers and are grateful to the teacher presenters who volunteer their time to make this event successful. If you have any questions about receiving SB CEU credits for the day, please feel free to contact us.
The planning has begun! The Technology and Media Team have started planning for Rebel U 2011 and working to provide a dynamic professional development day. The theme for Rebel U 2011 is "Innovation Through Collaboration." We hope that as a district, we can provide collaborative support to one another to build learning environments where students are engaged, empowered, challenged and foster a love of learning.
Stay tuned for more details as they become available!
During our Rebel U, WZZM 13 visited Godfrey-Lee and spoke with several teachers, presenters and administrators. For their article, please go to: http://wyoming.wzzm13.com/content/grant-brings-new-technology-wyoming-students.
Rebel U 2010 was a huge success! The Technology and Media Team sends out a huge thank you to all the people who made this day possible. Teachers were actively involved in a variety of technology activities throughout the day and had many positive things to say about their experience. Stay tuned as we will be posting some individual reactions to the day.
Many of the preparations for RebelU are coming together and the Godfrey-Lee Technology and Media Department is excited about the many things that will be going on during this day. Some of the presenter handouts are starting to come in, so feel free to check out the Sessions page to view presentation handouts.
Rebel U was just approved to offer 0.5 SB-CEU credit to participants for a cost of $5.00! Applications for SB-CEU credit will be available at Rebel U. If you have any questions about this, please contact Sarah Wood.
As part of our Rebel U day, we would like to offer teachers the opportunity to apply for SB-CEU's. We have submitted our paperwork to the ISD (as our sponsor), who has in turn submitted the paperwork to the Michigan Department of Education for approval. The paperwork we submitted would allow teacher to receive 0.5 SB-CEUs for the entire day for a cost of $5.00. We are hoping to hear back within the week or so if we are approved to offer this credit to teachers.
The Technology and Media Department is in the process of planning RebelU, a new professional development day that is part of the professional development that all teachers must attend at the beginning of this school year. As our district continues to move forward with establishing a web-based environment, we want to provide all teachers with the opportunity to learn about these tools to encourage anytime, anywhere access.
As the planning for this day develops, all information will be found on this site. This site will also serve as a resource for teachers before, during and after the professional development day. If you have any questions about this day, please contact Sarah Wood (email@example.com).
